The McKenzie Theater
Springfield, Oregon

It was official! The Preemeer of TWISTER, the video, was held on Saturday, April 11, 8PM at the McKenzie Ballroom on Main Street in downtown Springfield, Oregon!

There were no seats. You brought your own comfort, your spriteliest costume and your private personal liquid.

The winds blew strong and treacherous on the eleventh at the Mckenzie Ballroom. The wind shuffled things around so bad that doomsday seemed near. Then people realized that life is good nevertheless. that the winds can't be tamed, but ridden. That fear exists but should not dominate. -- Lucas Tovares

Critics have called the show everything from a "musical catastrophe" to a "technoidal travesty." Kesey explains, "if it must be labled, I prefer the New York Times' description: 'a ritual reality'. Hard times need good rituals," Kesey says, "and these are some hard times."

Performed by Kesey and a cast that includes the original Merry Pranksters, the play allows for frequent audience participation, a requisite for rituals, with characters that were derived largely from 'The Wizard of Oz, with surprise apperances by other American legends such as Elvis Pesley (Huey Lewis), Frankenstein (Ken Babbs), and Walt Whitman (Allen Ginsberg).

Musical score is performed by JAMBAY, the West coast's premier cyberdelic jazz-influenced progressive-rock band.
